TITLE: SR 2. Electric Technician

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for electrical, electronics, and maintenance of all equipment. Performs other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Industrial maintenance degree or similar from a state certified technical school or community college is required. Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship can be substituted
  • 10 years of experience in industrial electronics minimum is required
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Also must be able to work on-call as needed
  • Must be able to read electrical schematics
  • The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
  • Can work with limited supervision (ie. night shift)


  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary


  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • All skills, knowledge and job duties of Electrical Technician Sr.I.
  • Fill in for Electrical Supervisor as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PCs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC (S5/S7) issues.
  • Commission micromaster drives for simple applications.
  • Replace complex control components with new or different components.
  • Program Sick laser scanners.
  • Set up and replace light curtains.
  • Replace and set up safety relays, simple drives, temperature controllers, soft starts and HMI panels.
  • Assists Maintenance technician in the lubrication and repair of mechanical equipment
  • Maintain all equipment in good running order
  • Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards
  • Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment
  • Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
  • Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date
  • Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follows LOTO procedures at all times


WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:



  • Manufacturing Environment
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
  • Loud noise
