SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including check, EFT, and wire disbursements, across two ERP systems.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, purchase orders, and vendor issues in collaboration with purchasing and receiving departments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate sales tax filings and GL reconciliations for U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Assist with monthly financial close, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliation of accounts payable and related expense/balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and reconcile income tax provisions, manage intercompany royalty accruals, and coordinate timely federal and state income tax payments.
  • Analyze and book first-year warranty reserves, manage payroll accounting reconciliations, and conduct monthly gross margin analysis.
  • Maintain company accounting processes, ensuring compliance and supporting continuous improvements.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests, including SOX compliance and financial statement preparation.
  • Support ad-hoc projects such as business combinations, ERP automation, and revenue recognition initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years working in accounts payable function.
  • Experience analyzing large volume of complex data
  • Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software.
  • Experience with automation, document approval and paperless data storage.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Large ERP AP system experience, as well as 1099 filing experience.
  • Sales tax experience.
  • Proficient using business solutions software programs.
  • Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to determine risk and raise issues up to immediate supervisor.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift or push weight up to 50 pounds (simulators).
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
