The Central Billing Director role directs, coordinates, and supervises client billing and practice management of all services provided by the firm by supervising the Central Billing team that performs regular and ongoing analysis to collaborate with engagement teams, as well as with leadership. May oversee multiple family members throughout the firm, ensuring each operates efficiently by leveraging consistent people, processes, practices, and resources not as individual components, but as one.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operational Leadership: Provides Central Billing team leadership across the firm. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Assigns duties and provides training for Central Billing roles. Analyzes and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of team. Resolves errors and issues. Ensures the team is supporting the needs of office and firm leadership. Manages team workflow to regulate and maintain a balanced workload. Partners with service leaders, industry leaders, and various internal groups to implement firm-wide internal finance initiatives. Attends regularly scheduled firm-wide meetings to standardize processes and share best practices.
  • Analysis: Stays current on industry regulations and trends across the firm related to client billing. Compares and analyzes billing rates and job specifics across the firm to ensure industry consistencies and standards are met. Prepares and submits reports on billing activities and trends. Continually monitors team processes and efficiencies, in an effort to continually leverage technology and staffing to improve production.

  • Team Development/Supervision: Ensures team is knowledgeable in all necessary areas of application. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships to promote the success of established short and long-term objectives and goals. Manages daily operations within closely-working team members to ensure productivity goals are met or exceeded. Strives to constantly develop team to ensure capable management succession. Directs the resource allocation, time management, performance management, career coaching, recruiting, and development of the team. Acts in a supervisory capacity to ensure team consistency in performance. Provides input to leadership on family member job performance and makes recommendation for compensation adjustments.

  • Finance: Analyzes the production and flow of the team processes, production, and efficiencies. Works with firm and industry leadership to develop and maintain standardization across industries, services, and geographies. Continually advocates for consistency and standardization across all industry and service lines.

  • Strategy/Thought Leadership: Continually explores solutions to improve and execute the strategic vision for the billing operations of the firm. Assists in the development, planning, and implementation of effective and innovative billing solutions.

Requirements:

Experience

  • 8 years of related experience, including supervisory responsibilities, is required

Education

  • Bachelor's degree is required. (Combination of experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.)

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred
