Certified Medical Assistant or LPN

Tama/Toledo Family Practice- UnityPoint Health

Full-Time; Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Eligible for $5000 Sign-On Bonus paid over 1 year!

Tama/Toledo Family Practice is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist our provider and clinical staff with essential patient care duties, including obtaining vital information, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, and managing follow-up appointments. You will play a crucial role in patient education, documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities
  • Assist provider and other clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information preparing patient for examination, treatment and minor surgical procedures.
  • Responsible for tracking system for follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests and procedures to regularly follow patients monitoring disease status.
  • Schedule referrals for patients with specialist or outpatient as requested by the provider.
  • Complete appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing, including appropriate CPT/ICD-10 coding.
  • Answer questions and provide teaching to patients and family members. Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patient's electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.
  • Provide information to appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. health department).
  • Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited program for CMAs
  • Current CMA certification through AAMA, or NCCT
  • Mandatory Reporter certification CPR certification
  • Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred
