• Design and deliver material handling system components

• Use CAD and/or 3D tools, Design mechanical systems and/or controls and electrical systems including documentation and training

• Work with DigiKey and 3rd party teams to lead areas of system installations and testing

• Be a Subject Matter Expert on designs for which you are responsible

• Do prototyping or design a Proof of Concept

• Work on a design team or individually to meet business needs for the engineering team, and know the capabilities of the areas of design for which you are responsible

• Follow engineering first principles in equipment and process design

• Provide support for medium to complex issues

• Collaborates with Senior and Principal Engineers, Software Engineers and end users with a majority of time spent designing, integrating and delivering material handling systems or controls

• Designs and implements solutions to support overall system requirements

• Provides design knowledge and expertise to support operations, engineering and maintenance and training

• Supports project deliverables with necessary documentation, configuration, programming, etc.

• Good knowledge and demonstrated troubleshooting abilities

• Seek guidance from senior staff when needed and provide assistance to junior staff when needed

• Understanding of the business function related to overall systems

• Provide documentation, training and basic support

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma/GED

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar area of study

• Typically, 0-5+ years' experience as an Engineer in Material Handling or related field

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

• Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen

• Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
