Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Assistant at the Center for Asian Health Promotion and Equity ( CAHPE) within the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research ( IFH). The position will directly report to the Center's Principal Investigator and to faculty and department administrators at the Center by assisting with research proposals and ongoing research projects, and by supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the Center. The Research Project Assistant will have the opportunity to work in a collegial work environment to support innovative, multidisciplinary studies.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Conducts comprehensive literature review to support research projects and grant proposals.
  • Provides assistance with required regulatory documentation (e.g., Institutional Review Board, Data Use Agreements).
  • Provides basic support in the creation of code lists and data tables and conduct of data analyses as directed by Center faculty and staff.
  • Assists with ongoing project support under the guidance of the faculty PI or project manager, including, but not limited to, scheduling and taking of minutes, providing assistance with reporting to funders, submission of procurement materials, and engaging with co-investigators, consultants, and other collaborators.
  • Assists with grant submissions, protocol development, and manuscript development through drafting of passages under guidance from faculty, the review of formatting, spelling and grammar, and the creation of figures and tables.
  • Provides general administrative support in support of CAHPE faculty, Center leadership, and CAHPE operations.
  • *Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Policy, and relevant data use agreements.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related scientific field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience in research.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Candidate should have a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, be a good collaborator, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate must demonstrate the ability to be well organized, have a high attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple projects at once by prioritizing her or his time to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Candidate should have understanding of, and commitment to, the highest standards of research ethics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency with spoken and written Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
  • Prior experience in research.
  • Basic statistical knowledge.
  • Experience with performing basic data analyses.

Equipment Utilized

  • Candidate should be computer literate and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
