Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $43,888 - Midpoint: $50,300 (Salaried E5)

Department/Organization: 208447 - UMC Northport

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; limited evenings/weekends.

Job Summary: The Supervisor Medical Reception oversees Medical Receptionists and ensures patient flow for the medical office or clinic is handled in an effective and timely manner.

Additional Department Summary: Oversees daily operations of front office for assigned clinic(s) at University Medical Center, under the guidance of the Director or Medical Reception Services. Provides supervision and direction to reception staff to ensure patient flow is handled efficiently and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Coordinates onboarding, training, and scheduling of reception staff.

Coordinates patient appointment scheduling, referral processes, and payment processes. Assists with periodic employee performance evaluations. Generates monthly productivity reports for Director and assists with routine audit functions as directed. Serves as liaison to other CCHS departments, including Finance, Health IT, Billing Compliance, Medical Records, Lab and Imaging Services. Maintains strictest confidentiality. Adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of medical reception or administrative experience; OR associate's degree and four (4) years of medical reception or administrative experience; OR high school diploma or GED and six (6) years of medical reception or administrative experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in the use of personal computers, standard application software, and electronic health record systems. Knowledge of health care management, clinic philosophy, and policies and operational procedures. Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making. Skills in developing and maintaining effective relationships with staff, providers, patients, and regulators. Skills in organizing work to achieve clinic goals and objectives. Ability to monitor quality control standards. Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative.

Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a medical office or clinical environment. Previous experience with a multi-specialty practice preferred.
