Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
The Academic Advisor provides academic advising to students as assigned. The Academic Advisor will make student referrals to support services in
CAE and to other appropriate services on-campus and off campus, tracks students' academic progress, curriculum patterns, co-curricular activities, etc.; collaborates with other
CAE and designated College staff to design and monitor individual academic enrichment plans, including supplemental instruction and tutoring, and collaborate with campus partnes to facilitate workshops. This is full-time, twelve-month,
EPA non-teaching, non-tenure track position.
This opportunity supports the University's new centralized advising framework, which calls for the expansion of our current academic advising workforce.
Salary Range: $47,000-$50,000 |

CAE is a unit providing academic support services to help students excel academically and cultivate life skills critical to timely graduation and global citizenship. To accomplish its mission,
CAE offers a wide-range of services and programs that promote student success, such as centralized academic advising, supplemental instruction, peer mentoring, tutoring, etc. The unit collaborates with various academic units to reinforce academic expectations and address factors that affect student success and graduation. |
Minimum Requirements |
Master's Degree in relative field with 1-3 years of professional academic advising experience working with undergraduate students. |
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
- Experience advising first and second-year undergraduate student populations.
- Experience in advising historically underserved student populations (first-generation, low socioeconomic status, minority students, male students).
- Knowledgeable in appreciative, intrusive academic advising models.
