Minimum Experience/Education

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or and equivalent combination of training and experience.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Bachelors Degree and prior program/project administration or office administrative experience;
-5 years of progressively responsible administrative, management and budget and procurement processes;
-Excellent organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills, and willingness to learn and work as a team member.
-Ability to exercise independent judgment and exhibit maturity, show aptitude for the overall functions of the Center.
-Proficient in Excel database and functions; Microsoft Word (or other word processing software); Publish, PowerPoint, Canva, email and Internet-related research navigation, and web page maintenance.
-Knowledge of College, University and State policies and procedures, mission of the Center for Teaching Excellence in relation to administering its objectives.

Position Overview


Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to manage programs of the Center for Teaching Excellence, a campus-wide entity that features various programs and projects. This person will interpret and enact policies, procedures, operational needs and budget management. The position oversees the budget for the center operations, post-award of grants, BOD activities, hiring and supervision of student workers and program management assistants. They will arrange for faculty travel, faculty stipends, course releases, grant activities, speaker events, symposiums and events. It also requires management of the aspects of the operation of the Center including: retrieval of pertinent information, coordination of all events, creation of materials for program activities, methods to promote programs, survey and data collection and design and maintenance of the website.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The primary purpose of the Center for Teaching Excellence is to provide programs and support for faculty teaching.
Work Hours 8:00am to 5:00pm on Monday - Friday
Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)
Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies


Required Competency Program Management
Duties
Serves as the Center for Teaching Excellence Program non-teaching Program Manager.

Interfaces daily with the Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence and other administrative personnel including other Directors and Program Heads whose work intersects with the CTE.

Arranges and Interacts with Faculty, speakers, and others regarding participation in events sponsored by the CTE.

Assists the Director of the CTE in developing and enhancing consistent and effective relations with Faculty and Administrators.

Pre and post award grant management.

Develops and maintains an inventory of all materials and supplies required in the CTE.

Manages and directs the office support activities and manages all records including relevant data on the development and execution of program activities.

Serves as the point person within the larger campus community to advertise and support events, communication with speakers and faculty engagement with Center events and initiatives.

Directs and maintains the development of the timeline for all events sponsored by the CTE timeline.

Interacts consistently with faculty, speakers and others regarding the delivery of programs and services.

Manages the website for the CTE


Required Competency Program Knowledge
Duties
Provides direction and interpretation of policies and procedures required to serve as the Center for Teaching Excellence Program non-teaching Program Manager.

Enacts policies, procedures and regulations, etc. in the execution of grants, travel and sponsored events.

Provides information and exhibits knowledge of CTE programs and initiatives for all hires including the articulation of the mission, vision and strategic plan of the CTE.

Uses knowledge of the CTE initiatives to designs all promotional and related materials for CTE events including presentation materials, flyers, brochures, and other workshop materials.

Designs, disseminates and organizes data from surveys, needs assessments, and program feedback based on knowledge of the programs.

Identifies and understands issues, problems, etc., and the impact of such, that may arise in conjunction with the operation of the CTE.

Assists the Director to find solutions and take actions that will bring appropriate results.


Required Competency Financial Administration - Budget
Duties
Manages 4 budgets for the CTE.
Procures all materials, supplies for the CTE.
Interacts with vendors to arrange payment and procurement.
Reconciles all budgets.
Prepares budget narratives.
Maintains data on the status of all expenses related to the functions of the Center.
Generates reports and keep records on all events associated with the Center


Required Competency Staff Development
Duties
Provides training for graduate assistants and program administrative assistants for grants and large projects.


Required Competency Client/Customer Service
Duties
Develops and maintains collegial relations with faculty.
Assists in the development and execution of support services for faculty.
