Job Title: Cloud Devops Engineer Location(s): Fairfax, VA The Cloud Devops Engineer will work on new developments that directly impact our clients and their customers.
Responsibilities: An ability to design and code new software or modify existing software
Supporting cloud environments in accordance with operational requirements Ownership of various releases for upper environments and making sure releases are completed in a timely manner. Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices Implementation of new cloud based initiatives Automating build pipelines Maintain and update deployment Playbook Providing production support as required Remediate security vulnerabilities in the cloud infrastructure Work with the Information security and platform team on implementing secure cloud best practices. Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in a Devops Engineer role or related position
2+ years of experience with GCP(must) 2+ years of Software Development work experience using Java or similar languages. 2+ years of experience with at least one other major cloud platform ( AWS or Azure). Experience with Apache Kafka or similar event streaming platforms Experience with container orchestration Disaster recovery experience High level proficiency in understanding of REST and microservice architectures Advanced understanding of how to develop, build, test, and deploy code using an integrated CI/CD Pipeline Hands on experience automating CI/CD pipelines Cloud Certification(s) in AWS, GCP or Azure is preferred Demonstrated ability to manage and complete projects from design phase to implementation phase Requirements:
Expertise with GCP . Experience working with GitHub, Git-based tools, CI/CD tools similar to Jenkins, Artifactory, Terraform, Cloudformation and other modern tools. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and containerization, GKE or equivalent tools. Expertise with Go, Groovy, Bash, or other similar language Experience with distributed applications and cloud-based services. In-depth architectural understanding of Google Cloud Platform or similar and are familiar with cloud native design patterns and DevOps principles (Infrastructure as Code) Developing software using languages such as Java, Python, Go or other modern languages Knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC Knowledge of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP , DNS, SMTP , HTTP , etc. Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL Experience with Apache Kafka or similar event streaming platforms Experience with debugging existing software and correcting defects Familiarity with working in an Agile software development environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Dedicated to champion customer problem until resolution Ampcus is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
