The Sales Intern is responsible for supporting the sales organization while learning about the functionality of sales. This role is ideal for a driven individual looking to gain practical experience in sales, customer relationship management, and business development. As a Sales Intern, you will work closely with our sales team to assist in lead generation, client outreach, sales analysis, and support various sales operations. - Rotate through the branch and warehouse operations learning functionality of various groups and how they work together to achieve and complete the sales cycle.
- Follows an outlined schedule for training that includes introductions to various departments, experts in the industry, and overviews of TTI procedures. Retains knowledge and skills trained in the classroom and on the job, in turn giving periodic overviews of the training to a select audience. Overviews may consist of written reports and/or group presentation.
- Participates in the TTI Total Quality process by following defined policies and procedures to maintain efficient sales cycle, following logical and systematic approaches, while upholding the quality to the highest level.
- Represent TTI at alumni college campus by attending and supporting recruitment efforts for the Sales and Marketing Training program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities may include: Lead Generation & Research
- Identify and research potential clients within target markets.
- Update and manage lead information in CAM systems.
- Assist in building and qualifying lead lists for sales campaigns.
Client Outreach
- Participate in outreach activities such as emails, calls, and social media engagement to initiate contact with potential clients.
- Assist in preparing and sending proposals and follow-up materials.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate meetings for the sales team.
Sales Support
- Support the sales team in managing and responding to client inquiries.
- Prepare sales presentations and reports as needed.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of client interactions and sales activities.
Market & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Gather and analyze data to assist in strategic decision-making.
Administrative Tasks
- Help with administrative tasks such as data entry, document organization, and scheduling.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and brainstorming sessions to contribute new ideas.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- HS Diploma or GED required;
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with anticipated graduation within one year of completing the internship.
- Some work experience preferred; with focus/interest in a career in sales.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Driven by results and goals, with a demonstrated curiosity shown through active participation in clubs or community initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership or relevant work experience that compliments an academic record of success.
- Exhibits ability to learn and retain technical knowledge of company products and services.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
- Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) at an intermediate level required.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Exhibits strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable with making calls and communicating with customers and suppliers.
