A collaborative and supportive work environment. Responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiology Triage Nurse to join our cardiology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to provide efficient and compassionate triage services to our patients. As a Cardiology Triage Nurse, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, prioritizing care, and facilitating timely access to appropriate medical services. Assess and triage incoming patient calls and walk-ins based on the severity of symptoms and medical history. Provide telephone triage, giving appropriate medical advice, and directing patients to the appropriate level of care. Coordinate urgent and emergency care for patients experiencing acute cardiac symptoms. Communicate effectively with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to relay patient information and facilitate timely interventions. Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies. Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Monitor and follow up on patients' progress and response to treatment. Qualifications** Current License to Practice, RN (State of Iowa). High school diploma. BLS and Mandatory Reporter. Prior cardiology experience preferred. Why UnityPoint Health?
