Overview of Position:

Streck is recruiting a Processing Assistant to join our Processing Department this summer. This position is responsible for the operations associated with the initial receipt, washing, filtering, and batching of incoming Red Blood Cell packs using various types of equipment

The Primary Responsibilities include:



  • Complete all raw material sampling and check-in procedures according to department Work Instructions.


  • Aseptically transfer Red Blood Cells packs into blood bottles and submit verification and micro samples.


  • Assist with the initial washing, batching, and filtering of incoming RBC packs.


  • Assist with additional processing duties such asgathering labware and setting up aspirating pumps and fill stations.


  • Maintain clean work areas and proper clean room sterility by using aseptic procedures and following all department cleaning guidelines.


  • Comply with departmental and company safety guidelines including proper use of PPE


  • Strict adherence to established Quality Systems and documentation as they pertain to manufacturing activities.


Requirements include:



  • Enrolled in high school or some collegiate experience


  • Must be dependable, well organized, and be able to communicate effectively and efficiently, both orally and in writing.


  • Proven solid work history.


  • Must display the ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment.


  • Prior laboratory experience helpful.


  • Strong Computer Skills


Work Schedule:



  • 8-hour days - Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm


Dress Code Requirements:



  • Casual - jeans and t-shirt


  • Dedicated Shoes


Pay Per Hour: S1

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:



  • Medium work exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.


  • Standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, stooping, fingering, grasping, and moving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.


  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and receiving detailed information through oral communication.
