Technical Product Owner (US Remote)

Description

Reporting to the Senior Technical Product Manager, the Technical Product Owner is responsible for creating, managing, and prioritizing the backlog in Jira to ensure that your development team(s) delivers high-quality software with every iteration. This position will work closely with product management, engineering, and other teams as needed to ensure quality product is delivered to our customers.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities



  • Work with Sales, Sales Engineering, Professional Services, and Technical Operations Center (TOC) staff to ensure that voice of the customer on both feature enhancements and support issues are captured and prioritized.
  • Assist TOC, Sales Engineering, and Professional Services as needed on escalated customer support issues not able to be resolved at the Support level.
  • Working with Product Management on roadmap prioritization to allow for optimal development staff utilization.
  • Leads requirements gathering efforts on the epics as needed - consulting with Product Manager, Engineering, System Operations, and other stakeholders
  • Documents story details based on the epics and after review with development staff.
  • Actively participate in all developer meetings, including daily standups, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Leads backlog grooming to decompose/estimate stories.
  • Collaborate with UX team to create mockups.
  • Write acceptance criteria.
  • Answer questions from Engineering, clarifies requirements, etc.
  • Document the new feature for implementations and release notes.
  • Demonstrate latest iteration to customers (pre-release) and gathers feedback.
  • Comfortable in presenting regularly to Stakeholders across the company.
  • Participates in creating training materials for staff.
  • Participates in both scheduled and ad-hoc training of staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required



  • Basic knowledge of Information Security and basic knowledge of Incident Response workflow preferred
  • Familiar with and willing to learn more about AWS/Azure/etc. and container technologies
  • Familiar with and willing to learn more about client-server best practices and architecture, scripting languages (Ruby, Python, PowerShell, etc.) and other languages (C++, C#/.NET, Java, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to remotely troubleshoot issues quickly in customers environments and find solutions to solving them independently in a timely manner
  • Exhibit good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other applications
  • Inbuilt ability to multi-task, working on more than one issue simultaneously
  • Proven ability in handling numerous tasks of varying and sometime conflicting priorities and requires someone who has a strong sense of ownership and can manage time and tasks with limited direction.


Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field preferred
  • Previous Infrastructure and or client/server support/troubleshooting experience preferred
  • 2+ years of experience as Product Owner in Agile environment or other equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience writing user stories or software requirement specifications
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification is preferred
