Position Overview: The Manufacturing Engineer II will lead high-impact projects and drive change by introducing innovative ideas and methods. This role involves collaborating with tooling, suppliers, and internal personnel to analyze data and evaluate various factors. The engineer will work independently within broadly defined practices and policies, determine methods and procedures for new assignments, and achieve results through indirect influence. The role also requires navigating challenging situations while maintaining positive relationships. What You Will Be Doing:
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance on-site.
- Develop, implement, and maintain methods, sequences, and processes for fabricating parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies, including test procedures, tools programs, and training.
- Estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards, and recommend tooling and process requirements for new and existing product lines.
- Refine build sequences and evaluate manufacturing effectiveness to meet cycle times and design specifications.
- Maintain records and reporting systems to coordinate manufacturing operations as needed.
- Test and qualify components and processes; work with suppliers to enhance material quality and acceptance.
- Coordinate with engineering for the release of new products.
- Read and interpret design drawings and schematics; update models or drawings using CAD tools as needed.
- Focus on improving manufacturing efficiency, optimizing product design, qualifying replacement components, enhancing product quality, increasing customer satisfaction, and reducing costs.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to address complex issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Continuously strive to improve process efficiency and support new product integration into manufacturing.
- Review engineering designs and documentation for completeness, clarity, and manufacturability.
- Evaluate and qualify new suppliers.
- Collaborate with Product Development to define manufacturability criteria and develop procedures/processes for assembly tests, including fixtures.
- Ensure that designs, documents, and procedures are validated before production release.
- Conduct and document field failure investigations, identify root causes, and participate in corrective and preventive actions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adapt to a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Work closely with experts in injection molding and stamping processes to turn a customer's vision into production.
- Write SOIs and other documentation, and participate in R&D efforts, including assembling first-off prototypes as needed.
What We Are Looking For:
- Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 0-5 years of experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD, with SOLIDWORKS preferred.
- Experience in data analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with DOE, DFM, PFMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ is highly desirable.
- Exposure to injection molding and stamping processes. While not requiring an expert, general knowledge and understanding are beneficial.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage customer requirements and timelines effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
