This role is remote and we are seeking someone located in the Northeastern United States (Boston area preferred, New Hampshire)

Summary:
Benchmark Electronics is uniquely positioned to drive and achieve dramatic growth in the markets they serve. Upon arriving at Benchmark, Technical Business Development Executives will be expected to draw on personal experience to quickly assess ongoing activities, as well as plan and implement a customer centric profit driven executable growth strategy. Prior background in business development of Engineering Design Services (specifically product development, test system development and quick turn prototype assembly.) The Technical Business Development Executive will be expected to prospect, investigate, understand needs, propose solutions and close business with new logos with the support of engineering teams and management. This role is a key position in Benchmark's North America Design Engineering organization that is relied upon to seek out new customers, develop business relationships, manage proposal development and work closely with both the customer and the Benchmark team to grow the Engineering business by creating value for our Customers.

Responsibilities:
* Pursue Leads with an Engineering strategy
* Identify target customers who outsource and have Design Engineering needs
* Position Benchmark to bid on significant Design Engineering opportunities
* Turn customer pain points into Benchmark Design Engineering opportunities
* Understand the customer's business model and be able to determine return on investment
* Understand financial statements and business strategies
* Recognize sector macro trends and recommend to the organization where to invest in capabilities

Other information:
* Currently in an Engineering Business Development role with experience in one of the following industry segments: Medical Devices, Complex Industrial Equipment or Aerospace and Defense Products. Though not required, any experience working in the EMS industry selling design & manufacturing services is highly advantageous, especially how product designs can be improved with DFX.
* Experience working with or in Design Engineering teams. The candidate should be well connected into OEM customer bases in North America, and must have existing relationships with relevant OEMs.
* Candidates must be capable of selling comprehensive design services into new accounts and the ability to personally develop, qualify, and close large, politically complex business solution opportunities at large clients.

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering field preferred

Full Time

Compensation Range: $124,663.76 to $186,995.64 USD
