TETRA is evolving its business model by expanding into the low carbon energy markets with its chemistry expertise, key mineral acreage, and global infrastructure. Low carbon energy initiatives include commercialization of TETRA PureFlow, an ultra-pure zinc bromide clear brine fluid for stationary batteries and energy storage; advancing an innovative carbon capture utilization and storage technology with CarbonFree to capture CO2 and mineralize emissions to make commercial, carbon-negative chemicals; and development of TETRA's lithium and bromine mineral acreage to meet the growing demand for oil and gas products and energy storage.

Essential Duties:

This position is intended to lead Finance and Accounting matters for TETRA's U.S. Energy Services operations in Completion Services, Production testing and Water Management space, covering both the onshore and offshore businesses. This position will lead a team of several finance professionals and report to VP of Finance for TETRA's Energy Services.



  • Oversees monthly, quarterly and yearly financial close process to assure accuracy of financials and explain any variances vs forecast, budget, year-on-year, etc.
  • Guides business team to successful achievement of all financial goals and objectives
  • Partners with business unit Managers to drive business goals and objective
  • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis for all U.S. Energy Services regions on monthly basis
  • Develops organizational prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; accumulating capital to fund expansion
  • Ability to mine data from the reporting systems in place (JD Edwards Enterprise One (E1), Vena, Power BI, Insight, etc.) to be a go-to resource for information for financial analytics, service line, job, customer, etc.
  • Improves current system/processes to speed up and automate information, align all processes across the business to streamline close process and create a "plug and play" environment across the board
  • Identifies and tracks cost drivers and comparing them against historical averages etc.
  • Ensures discipline and adherence to corporate financial controls and procedures including GAAP/Accounting Compliance
  • Drive behavior down into the organization to ensure compliance with audit standards and controls
  • Reports financials to Headquarters such as revenue/P&L forecasting and tracking variances from forecast to actual etc
  • Creates monthly Financial Business Review (MBR) packages for U.S. Energy Services and report / present them to SVP of Energy Services and VP of Finance for Energy Services
  • Maintains open dialogue to alert of upcoming variances to projections - within region and to management team
  • Performs CapEx request analysis to justify investment opportunities as well as perform lookback CapEx analysis to ensure returns are achieved
  • Manages financial capital; communicate capital requirements/ implications of business decisions to leadership and decision makers


Requirements:



  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business
  • EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of experience in Accounting and Finance (5+ leading teams) with strong analytical finance and accounting skills
  • LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
  • TRAVEL: 30% (U.S. Only)
  • OTHER: Oilfield Equipment and Services knowledge a plus but not necessary; E1, Vena and Power BI system knowledge a plus but not necessary
