This job delivers specialized comprehensive care to a variety of patient populations by operating and managing extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) equipment under the supervision of ECMO leadership and physicians. Collaborates with all members of the health care team in the planning and delivery of care to the patient; monitors the patient's status and ECMO circuit; maintains the ECMO pump and manages the ECMO patient; identifies and corrects problems associated with ECMO procedures; and provides ECMO services as ordered by a physician in accordance with established policies and procedures.This job description is a summary of the primary duties and responsibilities of the job and position. Education Required - Associate's Degree in Respiratory OR a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Perfusion, or related field Work Experience Required - 1 year of strong critical care experience Preferred - 1 year of pediatric/neonatal experience Certifications Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Current Registered Nurse, Registered Respiratory Therapist or Perfusionist License in the state of practice * If a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist, must also be credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as an active Registered Respiratory Therapist * Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) only acceptable for Respiratory Therapists who have been grandfathered in Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
