Summary of Position

The Senior Manager of BioPharma and Laboratory Projects is responsible for developing the technical components and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the BioPharma Division. This position will require collaboration between the managers and medical practice for each technical area. The Senior Manager is responsible for the oversight of staffing and budgetary considerations of the BioPharma Division. This position will adhere to project guidelines ensuring timely communication of adverse events and maintaining stated turn-around times. This position will also assist with laboratory projects as necessary. An understanding of the laboratory and BioPharma workflows, logistics, and clinical principles of laboratory testing are required.

Key Job Elements



  • Management oversight of all BioPharma operations for the laboratory as they pertain to Accessioning, Flow Cytometry, Genetics, IHC/HIS, and Molecular technologies.
  • Oversee the implementation of a new LIS for the BioPharma Division.
  • Oversee and coordinate new projects within the laboratory and Biopharma operations space.
  • Assist with and participate in the inspection and review process from CAP, CLIA, or other accrediting agencies for the laboratory.
  • Responsible for ongoing development of managers and frontline teammates.
  • Must collaborate with individuals at other sites to ensure company initiatives are successfully executed.
  • Manage, in coordination with each department manager/supervisor, the staffing model and staffing utilization to maintain and improve efficiency, productivity, and overtime usage.
  • Lead or assist with projects and project management as assigned.


Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience



  • BS in a laboratory science or BA in administration.
  • Minimum of 8 years of BioPharma laboratory management experience.
  • Laboratory personnel participating in licensure or certification maintenance programs must complete the number of continuing education hours prescribed by their licensing or certifying agency.
  • Technical laboratory personnel whose certification has been grandfathered and does not require participation in a certification maintenance program must complete at least twelve hours of continuing education annually.
