  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 432 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • The pharmacy intern ensures that patient care is maintained under the supervision of a Clinical or
  • Staff Pharmacist through compliance with the department's policies, rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Pharmacy, and other applicable regulatory bodies.
  • This entry-level position is designed to develop the knowledge base and competency level of the Pharmacist Intern while performing pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a Clinical or Staff Pharmacist.
  • Functions performed as an intern include, but are not limited to: interdisciplinary patient care rounds, admission medication history, medication counseling and patient education, drug information, drug dosing, drug preparation and drug distribution.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have completed 30 credit hours of work towards a professional degree in pharmacy.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desired
  • Previous pharmacy experience desired
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desired
  • General knowledge of Pharmacy Care modalities, terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, terminology, drug use and aseptic techniques, standards and equipment.
