Summary: The ASPCA Forensic Sciences team supports animal cruelty casework throughout the U.S. by providing forensic services at the request of law enforcement, enabling others to do this work through educational efforts and conducting collaborative and novel research that supports criminal casework. The Forensic Veterinarian will play a key role on this team serving under the direction of the Senior Director of Veterinary Forensic Sciences at the ASPCA Veterinary Forensic Science Center (AVFSC) in Gainesville, FL. This position will consult internally as well as externally, providing ASPCA veterinary medical expertise on cruelty and neglect for National criminal cases and AVFSC cases as directed by his/her supervisor.Additionally, this position will collaborate on teaching and research in veterinary forensic sciences. Due to the nature of the work, this role requires extensive travel (up to 50%), occasionally with short notice, to support case work and the demands of the department. Responsibilities: Provision of forensic sciences services for AVFSC criminal cases (40%)
Provision of forensic sciences services for National criminal cases (30%)
Collaboration on research, teaching and other (30%)

Compensation & Benefits: Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.
