MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

The primary role of the Marketing Communications Coordinator is to help drive nationwide awareness for McGough's expertise in construction and help win business in the markets in which it currently operates. The Marketing Communications Coordinator reports to the Senior Communications Manager and is a key team contributor in supporting the development of marketing communications programs and project execution. This position's primary responsibility is to enhance McGough's visibility and reputation among key audiences by implementing a wide range of marketing communications activities, including planning and executing impactful events, managing dynamic social media campaigns, developing compelling marketing materials, driving public relations initiatives, and more. This person is a versatile talent with a strategic mindset, a high level of attention-to-detail, and a natural ability to "see" and raise the questions that need to be asked to isolate and deliver impactful messages to a variety of audiences across various mediums.

Candidates are encouraged to provide a link to a portfolio showcasing relevant work, such as writing samples, marketing materials, social media campaigns, or design projects. As part of the interview process, a skills assessment may be conducted to evaluate proficiency in key areas related to the role.

Qualifications:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field
  • 2-5 years marketing communications or public relations experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience executing social media marketing programs
  • Creative thinker and writer with strong attention to detail
  • Team-oriented with ability to collaborate cross-functionally with key organizational decision-makers
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Have a passion for brand-building and can consistently apply style and brand standards across communications
  • Must have the ability to work independently and also in cooperation with a larger team.
  • Must thrive in a deadline-driven environment


Preferred:



  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 suite including Sharepoint
  • Familiarity with WordPress websites
  • Experience in event planning
  • Graphic design capability and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and/or Canva
  • Photography and videography experience a plus
  • Prior experience in the AEC industry preferred


Office and Travel:

This is a low-travel position based preferably in McGough's HQ - MN. Occasional in-town travel and overnight travel may be required. Hybrid - flexible schedule.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Communications



  • Write/draft/edit content for communication channels such as press releases, website copy, email campaigns, Intranet postings, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, surveys, blogs, white papers, and other marketing materials.
  • Work with Creative team to plan and execute social media campaigns including conducting interviews with SME's, creating graphics, and writing and posting to social media channels.
  • Draft project and people award submittals and search for award opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain company website content.
  • Support the implementation and development of marketing communication plans and strategies, both internally and externally.
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics, track KPIs, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Look for and implement creative ways to help us achieve our corporate and sector goals for revenue growth, profitability, and market leadership in select markets.


Marketing



  • Coordinate trades shows and other events including but not limited to registration, contracts, booth and signage, and shipment of materials.
  • Manage the company's merchandise store and promotional items inventory, including the research, purchasing, and order tracking.
  • Produce unique marketing collateral for Business Development and internal departments as requested, ensuring corporate identity is maintained.
  • Provide creative input and copywriting in campaign, advertising, event signage and other collateral not otherwise specified.
  • Support key marketing planning and execution initiatives working directly with sector and regional Business Development leads.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee's work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.

Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $78,000 excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.

Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability. We also provide generous retirement plans, voluntary benefit plans, parental leave, substantial paid time off, and holiday pay.
