How You Will Contribute:

Commencing July 2025 we are opening our doors to an outstanding group of high potential, new graduate future Network Engineering stars for full-time employment. The Network Engineer (NE) utilizes their technical aptitude to create network designs as well as execute reconfiguration and migration services. The Network Engineer (NE) is a key component to Ciena's success as a Ciena product expert and a technical advisor to our customers. Development Program:

You'll kick off your Ciena journey in Atlanta with a 6-month development program where you'll thrive in a path towards technical certification, while working for a company that's leading the way for innovation in telecom. Our structured learning program offers extensive networking, mentoring and coaching opportunities with Senior Leaders in our Services organization as well as classroom-based and hands on training. Though this program you'll learn aspects of the following:

  • Ciena's Organizations
  • Ciena's Customer Landscape
  • Ciena's Product Portfolio
  • Network and Engineering Design
  • Professional Services, Technical Support, and Project Management

  • At the conclusion of the 6-month program, you can work with your leadership to relocate to an office location or remote location of your choice in the US that will be best for your ongoing engagement, development, and lifestyle.

Network Engineering Job Responsibilities:

  • Implements complex upgrades of Ciena equipment on customer's In-Service networks without impacting the services provided to the end user.
  • Deliver and own Network Engineering documentation for customers via the Engineering Method of Procedure (EMOP).
  • Validate the actions taken by the field team are executed properly as per the steps detailed in the Engineering Method of Procedure (EMOP).

The Must Haves:

  • 4-year Engineering Degree
  • Very strong communication skills - verbal, written and presentation
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Ability and aptitude to handle competing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships
  • Time and workload management
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Previous technical/co-op work experience a plus

Pay Range:

The annual pay range for this position is $54,700 - $87,300 USD

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
