The part-time Resident Assistant is responsible for promoting a residential experience that fosters retention and cultivates referrals; enhances students' opportunities for academic success, engagement, appreciation for differences, knowledge of campus resources; and satisfaction with their university experience. In addition, resident assistants assist management in the administration of Village tasks including, but not limited to administrative, maintenance, and residence life. This role will be based within a B.HOM Community.This is an Evergreen Requisition that will remain open to accommodate current and or future openings for the Resident Assistant position. Evergreen Requisitions will remain posted even, if a current position is not currently available.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Initiate, plan and organize programs based on the Live, Learn, Grow programing model.
  • Encourage and facilitate the planning of programs and community builders based on the needs and interests of residents.
  • Create and/or distribute programming reports, flyers, and other materials necessary to ensure success of programs and events.
  • Attend and assist with all community events/programs.
  • Report damages and facility repairs in a timely manner and follow up with residents on progress of repairs.
  • Coordinate accurate move-in and move-out inventories and unit condition reports.
  • Provide informative tours of the community as needed.
  • Process check-in ad check out of residents/guests in include key issue/collection, resident/guest assistance, room inventories, damage assessment, access card issue/collection and other assorted responsibilities.
  • Distribute and collect reports, notices, and forms as requested by the supervisor or general manager.
  • Contribute to composing, publishing, and distributing a monthly newsletter.
  • Serve as a tour guide on Preview Days, usually held on weekends.
  • Assist in marketing of contract renewal application process.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the direct supervisor and/or General Manager.
  • Report all maintenance problems involving community property, deficiencies, or damages via work request system.


Minimum Qualifications/Skills:



  • Where required by law, must have state leasing license or ability to obtain the required license(s) within the timeframe mandated by state law
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and strong, demonstrated computer technology skills (including social media use)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present thoughts and ideas clearly.
  • Strong ability to plan and organize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 12 undergraduate hours upon start date, with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 undergraduate hours or 6 graduate hours during the academic year (not including summers)
  • Must be able to reside in an assigned staff apartment.
  • Must move on-site no later than one month prior to fall semester move-in day to participate in fall training and preparation of building opening.


Compensation: B.HOM will offer a fully comped bed space within a unit and a comped max meal plan during the duration of the calendar school year (10-month time frame of July 31, 2025 to May 2026).

Work Schedule: This position will require flexibility to be scheduled as needed based on business needs.
