Sr. Category Manager

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Category Manager to join our dynamic procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies for IT procurement, ensuring cost-effective and efficient sourcing of IT products and services, and overseeing approximately $190M in annual spend.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement category strategies for IT and Telecom procurement, including hardware, software, and services.
  • Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Manage high-stakes supplier relationships and performance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the IT category.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coach and Mentor Category Managers and other procurement staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT procurement or category management.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Advanced strategic planning and execution.
  • Extensive market and industry expertise.
  • Leadership and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to influence and drive change at an organizationallevel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

Compensation Range:

$104,325.00 - $173,875.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
