Basic Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Follow daily production schedules and priority ranking.
- Accurate set-up of injection molds, end of arm tools, robots, grinders and other equipment.
- Trouble shoot molding machines and bring parts into specifications for size, appearance, flash, splay, cycle time, etc.
- Process a variety of materials, which includes but is not limited to: ABS, PC, PP, Noryl, etc.
- Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- Enter production data, such as machine downtime, scrap, maintenance, etc., into ERP System.
- Originate maintenance work orders for equipment and molds.
- Contribute daily to help achieve the targeted department efficiencies and minimize scrap rate.
- Review and validate presses are running to standard cycle time and report variances
- Ensure organization, cleanliness and maintains safe work environment.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement with molds, presses, change overs, etc.
- Communicates and notifies issues to supervisor, as they arise.
- Serve as back-up supervisor as needed
- Complete assigned reports and documentation
Required qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years mold setting experience
- 1 to 2 years material handling experience preferred
- 3 to 5 years process startup experience
- 3 to 5 years process troubleshooting experience
- Strong interpersonal, decision making, time management and basic math skills.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, other associates, and management.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer PC skills, comprehensive math and reading skills.
- Must be able to work safely on the production floor.
