The Inventory Analyst is responsible for monitoring inventory contents and providing related reports and trends to ensure inventory related goals are being met and processes are being followed and in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies and procedures. This includes preparing monthly reports, analysis and other projects requested by management as needed, while acting as the analytical expert of the Procurement team. This position maintains records on a computerized system and is responsible for various reporting and tracking of inventory related materials.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Utilize a computerized inventory system.
  • Review parts usage by inter-company locations to facilitate the transfer and generate trend reports of slow-moving inventory.
  • Generate and review purchasing and purchase order reports to determine impacts on price adjustments and show overall impact of pricing adjustments.
  • Pull purchase and usage data to include with outgoing bid opportunities or pricing events.
  • Monitor return materials and return purchase orders to ensure credits are received to reduce slow-moving and potentially obsolete inventory.
  • Prepare monthly reports that track open credit balances and work with outlying locations to properly disposition the status of open credits.
  • Assist with physical inventories as needed.
  • Prepare reporting for outlying location cycle counts and perform inventory adjustments in accordance with the company's policies and procedures for Inventory Management.
  • Accurately maintain all internal/external fuel data for routine reporting and tracking.
  • Produce Month End Reports including Inventory turns, cycle count accuracy, materials issued to cost centers, fuel purchases and fuel reconciliation.
  • Perform mass price changes, as received by Rumpke's suppliers, ensuring purchasing info records are updated within the effective date provided by the supplier.
  • Generate warranty reports to show recovered and missed warranty opportunities.
  • Participate with all administrative aspects of SAP inventory related issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manipulate and maintain several databases and spreadsheets, create pivot tables and utilize V-Look Up tables to consolidate data and generate required reports.
  • Self-motivated; capable of working independently.
  • Ability to follow and to motivate others to follow standard parts personnel procedures and policies.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, takes initiative, and is flexible and cooperative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Analyze trends and data to assist with forecasting.



Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • 2 years' experience in the waste industry, vehicle parts, or equipment supply preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of office experience is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Windows and Microsoft applications, Outlook, SAP, and Power BI experience a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle parts, maintenance, and repair.
  • Basic accounting skills; understand credits, debits, G/L coding.



Physical Requirements in a Regular workday:



  • Continuously lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20lbs. Frequently up to 35lbs. Occasionally up to 50lbs.
  • Continuously working inside and outside in changing temperature, wet/humid conditions.
  • Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, other airborne matter.
  • Frequently walking, standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling.



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Ability to travel between offices, as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
