As a member of the Sustaining Engineering team, you would join other smart, talented, and dedicated engineers that pride themselves in analyzing the most difficult challenges for the launch-test range while developing and delivering solutions to meet the needs of the US Space Force and their customers.

This position is located at Patrick Space Force Base.

This position is eligible for a (hybrid) telecommuting schedule.

Essential Functions

  • Develop sustainment artifacts within a Product Support environment in accordance with the framework of Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition for electrical and mechanical systems
  • Support the deployed Range Systems sustainment posture from project initiation through closure
  • Utilize engineering drawings, data sheets, technical manuals, design presentations, and other technical data in various stages of development
  • Work with internal and external customers to define and implement an integrated product support plan, i.e., maintenance, and sparing analysis, level of repair, and Technical Order implementation that maximizes operational capability and product lifecycle sustainability within the constraints of organizational standards and requirements
  • Develop and present the Product Support plan in Technical Interchange Meetings to the Customer and provide overall support to Engineering and Project Management in the Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
  • Provide support for Government and contract Support Equipment Recommendation Data (SERD) records, and Source, Maintainability, and Recoverability (SMR) codes
  • Coordinate and handle multiple tasks and projects
  • Assign and manage work assignments and direction to Product Support personnel
  • Train/mentor Product Support personnel in all phases of Engineering project development and required tools and skills to produce project deliverables
  • Prepare Rough Order of Magnitude or Basis of Estimates in support of Product Support requirements
  • Perform related duties as required in support of Product Support, e.g., create and/or sustain Technical Orders
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment and perform work and resolve problems without supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Technical Communication, or related field or a combination of experience and education
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience working in a product support or in a product support of Configuration and Data Management (CMDM) environment
  • Extensive working knowledge of materials, components, assemblies, computer, and peripheral hardware designs and parts
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition for electrical and mechanicals systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, e.g., Windchill or equivalent

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Some extended standing and/or travel to local and remote sites
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
  • This position is assigned to Patrick Space Force Base, FL
  • Telecommuting may be available after initial training period
