JOB SUMMARY

The Laboratory Sample Coordinator is responsible for the starting point of the testing process. The Laboratory Sample Coordinates receives transformer oil samples for testing through common carrier and courier services, maintains an accurate log of all samples received at the laboratory and ensures that the samples are entered into the LIMS software and put into the testing workflow process. They also track out bound shipment from the lab. This position makes up testing kits and ships them to customers as requested.

The Laboratory Sample Coordinator reports to the Laboratory Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Enters incoming oil sample orders into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

* Processes purchase orders for sample testing and shipping materials.

* Organizes and maintains sample shelves.

* Facilitates and expedites the flow of samples into the lab for processing.

* Creates and affix sample identifications on sample containers.

* Cleans used sampling syringes and reassembles for future use.

* Assembles sampling kits.

* Distributes and shelves supplies.

* Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures.

* Other related duties as assigned by Laboratory Manager or technical team.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High school diploma

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

* At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory, warehouse, shipping department or similar work environment which is responsible for administrative support duties.

* Excellent interpersonal skills.

* Time management skills to accomplish time sensitive tasks in a timely and accurate manner in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.

* Must thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment.

* Work organization skills, which include prioritization, planning, maintaining accurate and well-organized records, attention to detail, and ability to multi task.

* Proactive skills, which included being a self-starter, anticipation of needs, follow-up, and initiative.

* The ability to work through routine issues in a timely manner.

* Excellent English, written and oral, communications skills to internal and external customers.

* Proficiency with MS Office Suite especially Word, Excel and Outlook.

* Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):

* Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices of a laboratory.

* Knowledge of LIMS.

* Knowledge of ERP systems such as Microsoft Navision

* Prior customer facing service role is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use fax machines, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.

Hourly Pay Range Minimum $17.54 - Midpoint $21.93
