Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

As the Court Operations Lead, you will provide direction to Clerk of the Superior Court (COSC) staff and assist supervisors and management with the completion of administrative duties, training and research. You will also provide the public, legal community, courts, county, and other governmental agencies access to the judicial system and related public records to allow them to pursue legal processes and/or obtain and maintain legal and financial records and information.

We Require

  • Three years of legal, court, or justice system support-related experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Post-secondary education may substitute for one year of the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Advanced years of experience as a Justice System Clerk or Justice System Clerk Senior

Job Contributions

  • Provide direction to staff by distributing and assigning incoming work as well as deliver training to staff members or other members of the Clerk of the Superior Court

  • Perform quality assurance inventory audits to ensure the highest quality standards and maintain statistical data for status reports; review and interpret court orders and initiate necessary action; update the inventory of sensitive items; ensure compliance with judicial orders

  • Conduct research to determine the eligibility of materials for release and/or disposal; perform complex research and respond to inquiries from internal and external customers; provide customer service telephonically, in person, and by email

  • Identify and notify appropriate parties and agencies of pending appeals; prepare and transmit the record on appeal

  • Ensure all documents are filed expediently and accurately and docketed in accordance with established procedures. Monitor systems to ensure there are no technical issues with document transmissions, report issues to and work with IT to resolve concerns

  • Prepare statistical team reports, which include assisting staff with goal setting for Clerk of Court standards, verifying reports for accuracy of information, and making necessary corrections as required

  • Manage a variety of internal team inboxes and folders containing questions and requests and ensure compliance with court orders. In addition to in-box folders and queues, various emails from internal/external sources for processing and document corrections

  • Complete daily deposits and cash drawer counts and be familiar with minimum accounting standards (MAS). * Dependent on division assignment

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed primarily in a business office setting that consists of a high volume and fast-paced environment, requiring long periods of sitting while completing computer activities

  • Travel may be required to and from job-related locations during the course of a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business

  • Ability to lift boxes or other items up to 20 pounds and carry, push or pull from one courthouse to another
