Responsibilities The OHH Instrument Technician is under the direct supervision of the Lead Technician ensures surgical instruments are clean, maintained, reprocessed, and sterilized utilizing all standards for quality and patient safety. Essential Functions: Responsible for just in time par levels of surgical inventory for the Surgical Services Department. Demonstrates willingness to work in other areas of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, as needed. Demonstrates knowledge and adheres to federal and state regulations. Actively participates in the routine biological checks of sterilizers. Participates in and encourages teamwork to provide patient-focused care. Operates all equipment efficiently in the department to include instrumentation, electronic, sterilizers, and computer equipment utilized in the department within the scope of practice. Assists the surgical team in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Trouble-shoots and assesses equipment failure and provide a backup plan when needed. Ensures that all supplies are available as needed for each procedure. Participates in the total maintenance of the department. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma and/or equivalent preferred. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of continuous CV Surgery experience preferred.
