Job Title: HVAC Technical Support Project Manager

Job Summary:
The HVAC Technical Support Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects within the HVAC technical support department. This role ensures that support initiatives related to HVAC systems, products, and services are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational goals. Acting as a liaison between technical support teams, customers, and internal stakeholders, the HVAC Technical Support Project Manager drives efficiency, enhances processes, and ensures the delivery of high-quality technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Define the scope, goals, and deliverables of HVAC-related support projects in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Track project progress and ensure timely completion, addressing any deviations from the plan.

Team Coordination:

  • Work closely with technical support teams to allocate resources for resolving HVAC-related customer issues.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments, including sales, engineering, and service teams.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers during technical support projects.
  • Gather and document customer requirements, particularly for complex HVAC systems or installations.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, milestones, and potential issues.

Technical Expertise in HVAC:

  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems to guide technical support projects effectively.
  • Collaborate with engineering and service teams to develop solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Stay informed about emerging HVAC technologies, products, and trends.

Process Optimization:

  • Identify inefficiencies in HVAC technical support workflows and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for handling HVAC-related support cases and projects.
  • Use data analytics to evaluate project outcomes and drive continuous improvement.

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Anticipate potential risks or challenges in HVAC support projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve issues that arise during project execution, ensuring minimal disruption to customer satisfaction and timelines.
  • Escalate critical concerns to senior management as necessary.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including HVAC system specifications, timelines, and final reports.
  • Prepare and present performance reports for leadership, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, project management, HVAC technology, or a related field. Or Equivalent work experience.

  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years of project management experience in the HVAC industry or technical support.
    • Hands-on knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and service processes.
  • Certifications:

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
    • HVAC-related certifications (e.g., NATE, EPA 608) are a strong plus.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, particularly for HVAC projects and service teams.
    • Strong communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana) and HVAC-specific software.
    • Ability to analyze technical data and resolve complex HVAC challenges.
  • Other Requirements:

    • Willingness to travel as needed for customer site visits and project oversight.
    • Adaptability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, technical environment.
