At Alcon, we help our customers see brilliantly. As the world's leading contact lens and eye care manufacturer, Alcon is looking to hire a Molding Engineer I to join our team at Houston, TX US. Manufacturing Production Process Engineering focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including:

  • Designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

  • Designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions

  • Conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems

  • Providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques

  • Perform and document Installation qualifications (IQ), Process Development (PD), Pre-validation studies (PVS), Operational Qualifications (OQ), & Production Qualifications (PD)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively interact and communicate upward with Sr. Engineer I, Sr. Engineer II and Principal Engineer.

  • Activity participate and communicate with injection molding production floor solving engineering issues as required using statistical data to draw conclusions, provide Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and develop approach to corrective action, preventive action plan.

  • Support revalidation practices to improve production flexibility.

  • Support the timely completion of all Non-Conformance Investigations (NCIs) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).

  • Support and assist defining training plans and programs as required, including seeing training needs through for all associated staff.

  • Vigilant pursuit of continuous improvement across all functions assigned.

  • Ensure calibration section Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

  • Work hours: 1st Shift (8 hours) Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (flexibility is greatly desired)

  • Travel Requirements: 0-10% (possibility of U.S. and/or international travel)

  • Relocation Assistance: None

Preferred Requirement:

  • Certified Scientific Molding Principles
