Responsibilities

We are seeking an associate with three to four years of experience to join our Technology Transactions team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced advisors, supporting life sciences and tech companies in shaping their IP strategies and facilitating key agreements.

Responsibilities:

* Assist in the development and implementation of intellectual property strategies for clients in the life sciences and other innovation driven technology sectors.
* Support the preparation and management of IP protection and commercialization efforts.
* Contribute to the drafting, review and negotiation of collaboration, partnering, and licensing agreements.
* Assist with drafting and negotiating foundational agreements for life sciences companies, such as university licenses, clinical trial agreements, material transfer agreement.
* Conduct research and analysis on diverse technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health, fintech, AI, IT, edtech, renewable energy, AR/VR, and cybersecurity.
* Participate in advising clients on corporate partnerships, strategic alliances, licensing agreements and aspects of product research, development and commercialization in both the life sciences and general technology sectors.
* Assist in navigating IP and technology aspects of venture capital financings, public offerings, and M&A transactions.


Qualifications

* Must have at least three years of legal experience in intellectual property transactions, life sciences, or AI.
* Background in life sciences, AI, venture capital or related field.
* Excellent research, analytical, drafting and communication skills.
* Commitment to excellence and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* JD is required
* Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
* The ideal candidate would be based in the Boston Legal Market.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $260,000 and $390,000.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
