What We Do Purpose: To analyze Sales and Use Tax accounts for purposes of GAAP and to prepare and review Sales & Use Tax returns for filing as needed. Also to be able to answer questions from management and the field in regards to Sales & Use Tax issues for all domestic localities.

Purpose: To analyze Sales and Use Tax accounts for purposes of GAAP and to prepare and review Sales & Use Tax returns for filing as needed. Also to be able to answer questions from management and the field in regards to Sales & Use Tax issues for all domestic localities.

Duties:

Review sales tax filings as prepared by the India Financial Service Center for accuracy and readiness for filing with the state and/or local authorities. Correspond and correct, as necessary. 35% Prepare returns by analyzing revenue for the period required and submitting them to the proper authority. (This will hopefully be transitioned to the IFSC prior to my departure). 20% Review correspondence from governmental agencies regarding sales & use tax and respond, as required. This includes maintaining sales tax portal access (user names and passwords) 10% Review internal correspondence and attend meetings regarding sales & use tax issues and respond, as required. 20% Analyze monthly balances in the Sales, Use, B&O and Other Sales Tax accounts for sufficiency and approve on Blackline. 10% Assist manager in preparation of tax audit workpapers and also manage audits, as needed. 5%

Key Competencies:

Minimum 3 years experience with Multi-State Domestic Sales and Use Tax compliance and research. Ability to create journal entries to be posted to GL. Maintain tax accounts in accordance with GAAP. Medium level of experience with Excel and Oracle, including pivot table creation and XLookup functions. Also, be able to forecast revenue to determine if a company meets the financial nexus. Preferred experience with Blackline, but not necessary. Ability to multitask, as problems crop up that need immediate attention.

Education required:

Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting, Tax or Finance

Salary Range: $82,950. - $110,550 annually

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
