Manufacturing Performance Engineer

Basic Function

This position serves as a direct report to the Director, APS Manufacturing US/CAN and acts as Chief of Staff to the US/CAN manufacturing region.

The APS Manufacturing Performance Engineer has responsibility for coordinating a variety of regional activities both directly and indirectly supporting alignment of the Manufacturing, Business Segment, and Corporate strategies, and ensuring the proper aggregation and consolidation of Regional performance metrics. The APS Manufacturing Performance Engineer also leads all activities associated with driving the manufacturing operating model and systems across business segments where supported; manages content, communication plans, and change management for major programs, monitors progress towards meeting site and business goals, and set expectations within the US/CAN Manufacturing organization on achieving benchmarks, gap closure plans, ensuring follow-through on the part of key players, and sustaining momentum needed to drive such initiatives.

The APS Manufacturing Performance Engineer will have responsibility for the redesign of the regional operating model to support business segment reporting, including communications plan, coordination of key activities on an annual timeline, preparation and support of staff meeting and manufacturing leader meetings.

The individual must possess a span of knowledge extending across all manufacturing areas and multiple business units and central groups. Strong interfaces will exist with site management and central organizations including the Commercial team, CFO organization, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Legal groups.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Own and drive annual execution of the APS US/CAN region's Operating Model, including the following:

* Organize and steward semi-annual site appraisal processes

* Organize and steward annual Site Asset Strategy refresh, including reviews and approvals

* Organize and steward annual Performance Plan (budget) with MC&A partners using zero-based budget methodology, including reviews and approvals

* Organize and steward annual year-end site performance summaries

* Organize and steward annual site goal build

* Organize monthly Site Manager staff meetings for the US/CAN region

* Organize annual Manufacturing Leaders forum for Americas regions

* Coordinate weekly performance updates for Senior Manufacturing Leaders in US/CAN region

*Identify gaps and work to ensure alignment of Global Manufacturing activities with company, commercial, and manufacturing goals aligning manufacturing sites on interpretation, and address key issues around execution and timing.

*Participate on corporate teams and high-level projects to help champion and implement corporate level strategic initiatives and goals. Provide Manufacturing input and insight, align on goals and objectives, and ensure successful implementation.

*Drives consistency in implementation and adherence of corporate standards (i.e. Operational Excellence, engineering standards, training, etc.) across US/CAN Manufacturing. Provide Manufacturing input and insight, align on goals and objectives, and ensure successful implementation,

*Coordinates across multiple functions to maintain relevant information and key performance indicators pertaining to the Manufacturing Segment. Provide clear, accurate, and consistent data analysis across US/CAN Manufacturing.

Min. Qualifications

1. Applicable Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred

Work Experience:

Ten years or more of chemical or related manufacturing industry leadership experience. Familiarity with financial, business analysis, and commercial interactions preferred, although high potential individuals could be considered with less relevant experience.

5. Strong drive for results, time management, and high initiative to manage a diverse array of strategic and tactical items.

6. Highly organized.

Skills:

1. Thorough understanding of manufacturing accounting principles and financial performance indicators or ability to learn these skills quickly

2. Advanced PC skills, including spreadsheets, database, graphics, statistical forecasting, and modelling.

3. High level of expertise in SAP and other shared IT platforms.

4. Sound working knowledge of manufacturing accounting practices and fixed/capital budgeting process
