What You'll Do
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates corrective and preventive maintenance activities with maintenance staff, contractors and external vendors
  • Orders parts for planned jobs and equipment
  • Ensures tools and equipment are available for the assigned task
  • Work in various roles within operations team to learn equipment, processes and procedures from start to finish.
  • Attend daily shift meetings to measure progress and obtain feedback.
  • Interact with technical engineers and non-technical operations personnel to integrate new technologies and update existing systems
  • Implement improvement projects from design through installation and start-up.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving process systems, including programmable logic controllers, process communications networks, and human machine interface equipment.
What You'll Need
  • Mechanical and/or electrical background required
  • Able to estimate labor hours, materials and can visualize the job to be performed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate up, down, and across the business
  • Strong computer skills
  • Able to read blue prints
  • Proficient in MS Office programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint required. SAP experience a plus.
  • Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication
  • Shows a safety first mindset; recommends improvements to make the workplace safer for self and others
  • Willing to learn about the steel industry and steel-making process; enjoys tackling new challenges.
  • Is organized and shows attention to detail, with a ""get it right the first time"" mindset
  • Demonstrates dependability in work completion and flexibility in schedule to meet business needs.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software strongly preferred
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's or technical trade degree preferred.
