Overview

FTI is seeking a Senior Advisory Cloud Architect to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in cloud architecture, systems engineering, and software solutions across multiple high-impact programs. This role will drive data-informed decisions, maximize flexibility and efficiency in delivering cloud-based cybersecurity capabilities, and shape innovative offerings aligned with FTI's core technology roadmap. The ideal candidate will excel in both technical leadership and strategic collaboration, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively across all organizational levels. Occasional travel may be required for internal and client-facing engagements. This role is located in Colorado Springs.



Responsibilities

    Design and implement hybrid cloud-based environments, ensuring critical applications are optimized for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Lead migration efforts from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms, integrating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and automation tools like Ansible.
  • Provide technical leadership in defining cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud service models.
  • Develop architectural solutions that align with organizational goals and customer mission needs.
  • Guide cross-functional teams through the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to deliver scalable and secure cloud-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Product Management, and Operations to create technical strategies, roadmap alignment, and value-driven offerings.
  • Act as the authority on infrastructure architectural design, addressing both business and mission-specific challenges.
  • Analyze and articulate technology trade-offs, presenting options with research-backed recommendations.
  • Lead stakeholder facilitation sessions, capturing knowledge from SMEs and aligning requirements with business goals.
  • Drive process automation initiatives to reduce manual tasks and increase solution scalability.
  • Champion Agile methodologies to deliver iterative improvements and incremental value.
  • Ensure alignment with security standards, implementing robust security designs across the development lifecycle.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to evaluate their potential application within FTI programs.
  • Deliver technical presentations, reports, and regular updates to senior stakeholders.


Education/Qualifications

  • Required Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related STEM discipline (Master's preferred).
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top-Secret clearance, with SCI and SAP eligibility.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud architecture, software solution design, and technical team leadership within Federal and/or DoD domains.
    • Demonstrated expertise in cloud architecture, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, and DevOps toolchains.
    • Proven experience in application migration and hybrid cloud platform adoption.
    • Strong leadership capabilities in technical meetings, design reviews, and requirement workshops.
    • Proficiency in Agile development methodologies.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Desired Skills:
    • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Red Hat Certified Architect.
    • Experience with Product Management, Data Analytics (ML/DL), Digital Engineering (DE), and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
    • Familiarity with DoD Acquisition Lifecycle and Rapid Acquisition frameworks.
    • Experience in cybersecurity and cloud security implementation.
    • Familiarity with SCIF/SAPF security protocols.

For this role, the compensation range for candidates in Colorado is ($130K- $200K) . Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. FTI has a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
