Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose |
The Assistant Program Manager (
APM) reports to the Director of the Transformational Change Partnership (
TCP) and provides administrative and logistical support to the partnership. The
APM is responsible for planning and executing in-person and virtual events, has clear communication among partner organizations and participants, acts as a representative of the University on business, and completes administrative activities using independent judgement. |
Essential Functions |
- Accumulate, centralize, analyze, and redistribute improvements to administrative and coordination processes for TCP and related projects.
- Update, publish, and reinforce public policy routines process improvement for operational efficiency.
- Manage and ensure timely submission of documentation, financial reports, and necessary communication to meet all agreed upon grant deadlines.
- Resolve routine problems using independent judgment and with little to no consultation; handle multiple assignments and prioritize in a constantly changing work environment.
- Create, build, analyze, update, and follow-through on changes to TCP and related project budgets to ensure timely and accurate forecasted spending against available revenue.
- Manage the routing and draft elements of contracts between TCP, related projects, and outside partners, including but not limited to routing contracts to achieve signature from all parties.
- Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate invoice payment and/or receipt of funds.
- Lead collaborator for planning with McGeorge marketing team and TCP Director to lead, develop and maintain website and social media presence as well as events to promote the TCP and related projects.
- Provide support in scheduling meetings for the Director and University staff working on TCP and related projects.
- Act as the first responder and representative of the University and McGeorge of Law with external stakeholders, including external agencies, counties, professional organizations, and others.
- Assist in special projects as requested.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three (3) years of complex administrative experience.
- Two (2) years of related work experience in public policy.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree.
- Assume responsibility and work effectively with minimum supervision.
- Ability to manage a variety of professional activities, correctly interpret and explain policies and procedures, and work well with tight deadlines while maintaining complete confidentiality.
- An exemplary work ethic and commitment to the mission and goals of the Law School and Public Policy Program.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact regularly with the campus community and the public.
- Ability to independently self-mange assignments and handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Hiring Range |
$68,640.00 - $73,265.00 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. |
