What's the role?

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager is responsible for supporting the execution of Hilti North America's (HNA) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy. This role will support building, integrating and promoting lasting DEI solutions and plans to cultivate an open and inclusive working environment for everyone, everywhere. This role will support our strategic DEI goals including DEI learning, advising our employee led groups, analyzing and communicating progress related to our global DEI KPIs. Leverages DEI best practices to help achieve strategic DEI goals and ensures the culture represents our values where we draw our strength in our diversity of thought and where everyone feels like they belong.

What does the role involve?

DEI Strategy Execution:

  • Partner with leaders and HR to develop and execute comprehensive DEI strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Lead the design and delivery of programs and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the employee lifecycle (attract, hire, onboard, perform, reward and recognize and grow).
Consulting & Advisory:
  • Provide guidance to leaders, managers, and employees on DEI-related matters, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
  • Advise on best practices for inclusive leadership, addressing challenges in creating an equitable and supportive work environment.
  • Network with leading DEI organizations and share best practices internally.
Workforce Analysis & Reporting:
  • Partner with HR Data Analytics team to assess the diversity, equity and inclusion landscape of the organization, providing insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Track key DEI metrics, report progress to leadership, and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
Training & Development:
  • Develop and deliver training programs that educate employees on topics such as unconscious bias, inclusive leadership, cultural competency, and allyship.
  • Ensure DEI training initiatives are relevant, engaging, and effective in promoting behavior change.
Policy Development & Updates:
  • Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure that DEI policies are inclusive, compliant with legal regulations, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Support the development and enforcement of policies aimed at preventing discrimination, harassment, and bias in the workplace.
  • Manage submissions for external DEI awards.
Change Management & Communication:
  • Act as a change agent in the organization, advocating for DEI-related initiatives and ensuring they are communicated effectively across all levels.
  • Facilitate conversations and workshops to raise awareness, address concerns, and build a culture of inclusion.
  • Share content and maintain internal DEI SharePoint page.
  • Serve as HNA liaison to Global DEI by sharing local best practices.
  • Be part of and co-lead key DEI projects and initiatives.

What you need is:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in DEI or HR, with at least 1 year in a strategic, advisory, or business partnering role
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience (with or without indirect reports)
  • Strong knowledge of DEI principles, best practices, and current trends in the workplace
  • Proven ability to drive cultural change, develop tailored strategies, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in analyzing DEI data and creating actionable reports and insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously
  • High emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diverse perspectives and experiences
  • Solid organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail
  • Capability to switch gears rapidly; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Research, benchmarking and project implementation skills
  • Influencing without authority, thinking and perform proactively, and function independently
  • High Emotional Intelligence / interpersonal savvy and cross-functional team experience
  • Excellent active listening, verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Internal and external networking skills

Preferred:
  • Master's degree
  • Certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (e.g., DEI Certification from a recognized institution)
  • Experience in managing or working with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
  • Hilti sales or field experience
  • Two (2) years of leadership experience with nonprofit organizations
  • Experience leading ERGs in other organizations
  • Ability to speak English fluently, plus a secondary language
