Position Purpose: The Collect Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing a team that administers and executes Collect programs, ensuring alignment with customer and company expectations. This role involves monitoring distributor operations and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the Fleet operations network. As a key member of the Transportation leadership team, the Manager will bring a customer-centric approach, represent the department in cross-functional teams, and work to streamline operations, and enhance service levels.
Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:
- Partner with Sales and Customer Support on defining and developing and executing OWI's Customer Pickup policy.
- Develop, maintain and enhance processes within department to ensure customer orders are routed and picked up on time.
- Develop and sustain customer relationships relating to order pick-ups.
- Oversee daily management of late orders, identifying trends and areas of improvement.
- Evaluate and implement continuous improvement for customer pick up orders.
- Participate in service meetings with Customers, as needed.
- Coordinate with production planning, sales, customer service and terminals to achieve on-time service results
- Work with transportation team and management for new requirements relating to website routing or specific customer needs to include work instructions for team members.
- Assist team in developing standards for customer master data integrity for clear communication to terminals, customer service, sales and transportation.
- Maintain work instructions by customer for website activities.
- Oversee and monitor distributor's operation activities and to ensure optimal delivery performance to our fleet customers.
- Manage open orders current and past due and expedite requests specific to Fleet & OEM accounts being serviced by all distribution facilities.
- Actively work with service operations team to seek ways in improvements and efficiencies in the Fleet operations network.
- Continual career development of team expanding their scope of knowledge
- Responsible to management for career development, recommendations of changes within the team
Experience:
- A minimum of five years in account management, customer service or transportation experience focusing on customer needs.
- Industry experience preferred: Automotive, Retail, Carrier, or 3PL.
- Proficient in MS-Office and SAP (or related ERP system)
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and identify trends
- High degree of integrity
- Knowledge of transportation, customer service and distribution methods
- Self-motivated. Works well under pressure and a sense of urgency
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain or equivalent qualified experience desired
