Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

We commit to support and influence a culture of excellence, respect, and inclusiveness by delivering valuable and innovative services to the University community, creating an environment in which both Faculty and Staff thrive.

The EHRA Non-Faculty HR Office provides a consultative, solution-driven approach to developing and administering programs, policies, and practices that support our academic and business units' efforts to attract, retain, motivate, and develop talented and diverse work forces. Our primary objective is to manage and continually improve HR and administrative functions to allow faculty, staff, and students to identify and execute innovative research and academic solutions for the public good.

The EHRA Non-Faculty HR Office partners with campus HR professionals to design and classify approximately 3000 academic, executive, instructional, research, IT, public service, and other professional positions, while effectively administering the State of North Carolina and UNC system classification, employment, and compensation plans and policies.

The office also serves as the university's functional experts on personnel appointments and appointment changes, salary administration, including merit pay planning, analysis, and execution, and compliance with university, state, and federal laws and regulations.
