The Role

The Team Leader leads a wealth management team focused on providing investment management, financial planning and client service to a defined group of clients. The Team Leader manages, mentors, and trains the North Carolina Wealth Management team. Duties include retaining and growing current client assets along with sourcing new clients. They are responsible for meeting team goals including revenue targets, service standards and compliance requirements. Curi RMB's team model depends on developing team members to be effective in their current roles and demonstrate readiness for promotional roles. Key Result Areas

  • Ownership and accountability over the Team's business plan including expenses, revenue growth, client retention, compliance, mentorship and career path progression for team members
  • Grow assets through referrals while also expanding and retaining current client relationships
  • Actively network to acquire new relationships; close new business and provide smooth transitions
  • Entrepreneurial vision and owns the growth strategy for their local geographic market
  • Communicate the vision and inspire/motivate/organize team members and resources to achieve common goals
  • Develop plans with each team member that focuses on the growth of existing client relationships and client referrals
  • Retaining, developing, and expanding client relationships. Advisors are tasked with growing assets by enhancing existing client connections and securing referrals. Additionally, they must network and generate new business through current client relationships, referrals, and new contacts.
  • Create and deliver a comprehensive client plan tailored to each client's unique needs and values. It is essential to coordinate with team members to ensure consistent and effective client support and service, following established client service minimum standards.
  • Manage and foster key complex client relationships while delegating client relationships to team members as appropriate
  • Manage and develop team members
  • Provide leadership, direction and support to team members. Coach team members as needed to develop greater effectiveness and capacity
  • Manage individual team member performance. Assist team members in setting goals, provide timely and quality feedback and conduct mid-year and year-end reviews at a minimum
  • Determine development goals for team members that lead to greater effectiveness in their current role, and skills and behaviors to help prepare team members for future roles
  • Assign work tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths and abilities, team and client priorities, and business goals
  • Provide timely and effective communication with the team and provide feedback to firm leadership
  • Provide solutions-oriented guidance to team with afocus on constant & continual improvement
  • Resolve problems and/or escalate as appropriate. Remove barriers to team member success and assist in determining alternatives
  • Address conflicts between the wealth advisor team and the business operations team, and develop effective solutions..
  • Manage complex client issues and opportunities. Work with team members to help them develop problem solving skills
  • Ensure team responds appropriately and in a timely manner to any actual or suspected wrongdoing, undisclosed conflicts of interest, ineffective internal controls or other compliance risks
  • Serve as a leader within Wealth Management, Client Advisory, and across the firm
  • Reinforce a culture of cooperation and teamwork
  • Participate in committees and working groups, as appropriate, focused on providing superior client experiences
  • Provide feedback on firm initiatives under consideration
  • Serve as a thought leader on topics related to practice management
  • Develop productive and effective internal relationships with other teams and departments in the firm
  • Ensure team practices are consistent with the firm's written policies and procedures
  • Escalate perceived risks to Chief Client Officer and Compliance when issues arise

Key Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or economics or equivalent work experience

* Experience building and sustaining productive client relationships is required

* Ten plus years experience and a track record of success in a Wealth Advisor role are required.

* Two plus years of proven success managing a wealth advisor team

Licenses

* CFP required

* Other accreditations are desired (i.e. CIMA, CPWA, CFA, MBA)

* Team Leaders are expected to focus on continual development through accreditations
