Brand new position due to growth!!!!!!! This position will support the manufacturing floor. You will aid in the configuration, documentation, and assembly of TCI's flagship active and passive harmonic filter product lines. You will work hands-on in CAD and 3D modeling to assist in the design and research components required to build jigs, fixtures, tools, and various machines to aid in efficiency and productivity on the manufacturing floor. Required Competencies Strong skills in mechanical design, with some knowledge of electrical or electronic products a plus. Desire to work in the factory with manufacturing associates solving problems, providing fabrication guides, and improving assembly documentation. The ability and willingness to take independent action and complete job tasks. Also, the willingness to seek out additional assignments. The desire to take full ownership of all assigned tasks and complete them in an efficient, timely manner. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Additional Desired Competencies Knowledge of 3D solid modeling design tools including Autodesk Inventor. Knowledge of assembly level hand tools, hands on experience assembling products. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning tool use for item creation, bill of material creation, and engineering change documentation. Job Responsibilities Job responsibilities will be partially driven by qualifications and area of interest expressed by the individual but typical tasks will include Shop floor layout analysis to improve product flow, eliminate WIP, and implement new machines as needed on the floor. Creating assembly documentation including but not limited to work instructions, exploded drawings, and wiring documentation. Assembly of prototype products on the shop floor and working with the construction of prototype circuits and test fixtures as needed by the engineering team. Develop and maintain shop floor layout to include all equipment locations, electrical requirements, pneumatic, and data locations. Controlling processes to improve the consistency and quality of products. Observing product assembly and implementing process improvements to reduce time and labor. Ability to think of and design fixtures and tools to improve operations on the shop floor. Working with engineers to improve manufacturability of new and existing products. Exposure to all or some of the following tools and technologies: AutoCAD, Inventor, Epicor (ERP), project documentation WIKIs, power electronic active filter circuits, passive filter circuits, and production test equipment. Basic Qualifications for Consideration Previous work in a manufacturing environment. Current accredited college or university enrollment making progress towards an under graduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0. This position works full time in summer and part time to full time during the semester. |
