Summary:

The Vice President of Retail Sales is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, enhancing customer experience, and developing innovative sales strategies across all retail channels. This position oversees the retail sales team, sets ambitious performance goals, and ensures alignment with the company's vision and objectives.

  • Develops and implements retail strategies to drive sales growth and market share.
  • Oversees the management of retail operations, including store performance, merchandising, and customer experience.
  • Collaborates with Marketing, Research & Development and Category Managers in developing a sales and pricing strategy for new and existing products.
  • Fosters a high-performance culture by setting clear objectives and targets, measuring outcomes, and providing ongoing coaching to the sales leadership team; monitors sales performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary to ensure goals are met.
  • Leads and mentor a team of retail managers and staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize the sales process and ensure operational excellence across all retail locations.
  • Analyzes market trends and consumer insights to identify opportunities for innovation and expansion.
  • Manages the retail budget, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Analyzes sales data to prepare forecasts, reports, and recommendations for the executive leadership team, including identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising customer experience or sales goals.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $170k to $230k.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in retail management and sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
  • Food manufacturing industry experience.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and improving retail performance.
  • Deep understanding of the sales process and the ability to coach salespeople.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel, up to 35%.

Preferred education and experience

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of retail technology and e-commerce platforms.
  • Experience with international retail operations.
  • Strong network within the retail and seafood industries.

Work environment (includes travel/on-call):

This hybrid position will be a combination of remote and onsite at the Trident Support Center office in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Our hybrid work environment includes remote work on Monday and Friday and in-office in the Support Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Travel to various retail locations will be required, up to 35%.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
