Hearth & Home Technologies (HHT), the industry leader in fireplace and stove design and manufacturing, is in search of aManufacturing Engineer Internto join our Operations team inMount Pleasant, Iowa. Our internship will run for approximately 12 weeks during the summer of 2025 and we are targetingSophomorestudents.Preference will be given to students who reside in Iowa or are attending college in Iowa.
Each summer, 15 to 20 students from a variety of majors, join the HHT family for a summer focused on hands on learning, professional development, and networking. HHT interns receive a project (or two!) for the summer and work directly with a mentor for technical and professional guidance. Throughout the summer, professional development sessions are provided for interns including opportunities to learn from and network with senior leadership.This is a paid internship at $24.00 per hour.
Our Manufacturing Engineer Intern at HHT in Mt. Pleasant IA will be tasked with a variety of projects throughout the plant floor to gain a complete understanding of the product build process from raw material to packaging the final product. Project size will increase as you gain experience. These projects will include learning/implementing lean principles and tools, material flow improvements, jig and fixture creation, all to improve quality and reduce build time.

*Pursuing afour-yeardegree in Engineering. Sophomore status
*Strong leadership characteristics reflected in school or work environments.
*Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
*Adaptability and flexibility
*Strong communication skills are required
