As the Manager - Product Management (Mobile), you will be responsible for the strategic product development, implementation, and management for TDS Mobile. You will also be responsible for ensuring product profitability by meeting or exceeding annual subscriber and revenue targets. The profitability and management of TDS Mobile includes the continuously monitoring the residential and commercial mobile service environments, due diligence, recommendations, and negotiations for additional ancillary products, services, and partners. Product lifecycle management is imperative for all mobile products and services including but not limited to, new products and rollouts, product growth, pricing and promotional offer strategies, competitive market intelligence research and reporting, product positioning and benefit statements, and go-to-market. You are also responsible for budgeting, vendor and contract management, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement with Sales, GRA, Finance, Network Services, Information Systems, Customer Operations and other Marketing groups on these services.

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.



Responsibilities

    Strategic guidance and tactical execution oversight ensuring objectives and metrics are met for the TDS Mobile line.
    • Execute and maintain a long-range competitive strategy.
    • Prepare business cases, as needed, for leadership approvals.
    • Manage the product roadmap and lifecycle.
    • Develop, execute, and monitor competitive intelligence.
    • Ensure timely delivery of reliable platforms, products & services.
    • Resolve high-level & large scale (multiple customer) billing & technical issues.
    • Innovate & improve through simplification/process improvement/COGS management.
    • Address and communicate operational issues.
    • Manage product line profitability including the necessary analysis & reporting.
  • Support call center and direct sales channels with technical information, training, sales monitoring,
  • External vendor management which includes but not limited to vendor selection, contract negotiation and management, troubleshooting, service levels, and quality of service. Handles analysis and recommendations for new product offerings from existing vendors.
  • Prepare annual revenue budgets, 5-year forecasts and quarterly MERO forecasts for assigned product lines. Work with Finance to develop models for revenue/COGS budgeting process.
  • Work closely with other business units in support of product goals and initiatives, including:
    • Information Services on strategic product, billing and system related issues.
    • GRA (Pricing, Tariffs, & External Relations) on regulated issues as it relates to assigned products & services.
    • Marketing, Sale Enablement & Sales Operations to create strategic marketing plans, introduce & promote services, develop promotional campaigns designed to increase product penetration, & reporting requirements for each product lines.
    • Identify and manage product gaps, pricing and promotional issues. Participate in various external forums to stay abreast of industry and peer developments.
  • Develop requirements for forecasting & reporting tools to track, analyze, and communicate key metrics during updates to the organizational leadership.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 5+ years of mobile or telecommunication industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in product development or product management.

  • Experience leading strategic, complex product development initiatives.
  • Strategic focus on identifying and evaluating revenue opportunities, market relevance, competition, and financial viability.
  • Results-driven with strong perseverance in the face of setbacks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Proven leadership in managing diverse project teams without direct supervision.
  • Versatility and adaptability to work with diverse individuals and situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize for maximum efficiency.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Knowledge of current telecommunications protocols, policies, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Access, Excel, and other database applications).
