Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regional Assistant Director of Accounting is responsible for coordinating and meeting month-end reporting deadlines and assists in evaluating internal control processes for STHS. Supervises Sr. Accountant and Accountants and ensures accuracy of schedules and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Serves as backup to Regional Director. Assists Regional Director with development training for department staff; annual budget, external and internal audits, tax packages and any special projects that may arise. Responsible for evaluating and implementing improvement initiatives aimed at quality and efficient department operations and meeting KPI goals. Possible travel twice a year to Laredo and once a year to Fort Duncan. Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Two to Three years of experience in a Supervisory capacity.

2. Minimun of Five years in Accounting within a Healthcare setting is preferred.

3. Proficient in Microfsoft Office programs with an emphasis in Powerpoint and Excel.

4. Familiar with PCBS and other budgeting healthcare software.

5. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1. Master's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance Preferred

2. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Required

3. CPA desirable, but not mandatory
