Job Summary

ABOUT THE JOB

We're looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will work closely with the Quality Control Supervisor to conduct essential testing and inspections, playing a key role in maintaining the quality that Cemex is known for.

Job Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

As a Quality Control Technician at Cemex, your daily responsibilities will include:



  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to Cemex, OSHA, and MSHA regulations, including wearing required safety equipment and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Verify product quality against established control specifications to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Testing and Analysis: Conduct ACI testing in Ready Mix plants and ASTM/AASHTO testing in Cement plants, following specification sheets and reporting findings to supervisors.
  • Material Testing: Perform testing on pit material, military base jobs, raw material, finished products, and product intermediaries.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of tests, inspections, and any deviations, ensuring that all quality control documentation is up-to-date.
  • Support and Maintenance: Assist with clean-up activities and perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support plant operations.

Qualifications

  • 4 years in a similar industry preferred


WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, you should bring:



  • Educational Foundation: An associate's degree in applied science or a related field.
  • Relevant Experience: At least 2 years of experience with a strong understanding of ASTM standards and quality control practices.Desirable ASTM certification within the first year of employment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer use, including quality software and Microsoft Excel. Strong numerical skills and familiarity with scientific laboratory practices.
  • Professional Demeanor: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing work conditions and priorities.

WORKING CONDITIONS



  • Safety First: Wearing protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols is a must.
  • Dynamic Environment: You'll work in diverse environments, including exposure to varying conditions such as outdoor industrial operations settings.
  • Physical Requirements: Expect frequent walking, sitting, lifting (up to 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, and climbing as part of your daily routine.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls
  • Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
