Under the direction and supervision of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Logistics assigned supervisor, this position prepares EMS supplies/equipment for shipment to fire stations. Reviews and approves EMS supply orders placed by fire stations. Fills orders received from the departments online ordering system. Receives, stores, and distributes a specific class of supplies and materials. Unpacks and properly stores stock received. Inspects the condition of shipments to ensure conformance to specifications and quantities ordered. Reports damage, shortage, or overage of shipments to the supervisor for corrective action. Maintains proper Periodic Automatic Replacement (PAR) levels of EMS Logistics inventory. Maintains cache of EMS supplies used for standby events or disaster response. Maintains cache of emergency EMS supplies used to support day-to-day operations should there be a break in the supply chain. Participates in the daily duties of checking reports for equipment repairs and equipment delivery and meeting with/escorting vendors to perform EMS equipment repairs. Performs daily visits to area hospitals to ensure Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) equipment storage areas are adequately stocked and well maintained. Performs daily inspection of vehicles assigned to EMS logistics and corrects or reports any mechanical deficiencies to the supervisor. Maintains cleanliness of EMS Logistics storage and work areas. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Monitors receiving, storage and issuance of supplies and equipment (small accounts);
- Serves as department's Property Manager for accountable equipment;
- Plans and monitors staging areas;
- Audits and analyzes inventory to ensure availability and to minimize cost;
- Performs inventory cycle count s and spots checks to ensure inventory accuracy;
- Places orders for stock/supply replenishment and sets automated controls;
- Utilizes purchasing application software, procurement cards, and vendor online catalog to generate purchase orders;
- Contacts vendors to expedite and coordinate deliveries and resolve discrepancies;
- Plans delivery schedule and routing;
- Enters invoices in Accounts Payable application software;
- Researches and/or solicits vendor prices and availability quotes;
- Monitors vendor contract performance and reports discrepancies to supervisor;
- Maintains detailed purchasing, receiving and issue records using automated procurement system;
- Trains subordinates of standard purchasing, inventory procedures and warehouse safety procedures;
- May provide limited supervision of warehouse staff;
- Coordinates maintenance and repair of vehicles, equipment and facility.

Employment Standards
-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; and two years of experience procuring or issuing and receiving equipment or performing accounts payable functions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working within a warehouse environment.
- Experience with Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
- Driver's License (Required)
- Forklift Safety Training Certificate (Required within 6 months)
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, sanctions screening and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform all required tasks including lifting 50lbs, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. All duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
